Hello, my name is Tracey Baillie. I work as a Deaf communication specialist to support deaf children and young people aged 0-25. This is under Hertfordshire County Council. The reason I want to join the advisory campaign group is because of both my own personal experience as a deaf person as well as my professional experience in working with the deaf community. Most of my career has focused on supporting deaf children. I’ve witnessed so many children face challenges, and not only children but their parents/guardians as well. This frustrates me, and this needs to change for our next generation. These barriers need to be removed to improve things for the next generation. I’ve also faced barriers from my own personal experience. There are many gaps needing to be filled, eg specific areas we aren’t able to access. My hope for the campaign group is to start by taking a step toward breaking down the barriers. It is time to move forward.
